Hello America – Who’s in Control?

Have you ever taken a few minutes to consider how much control others have over your life?

By Larry Andreen

Many Americans are proud to live in such a free country where we the people are in control of government.  What?

Let’s look at what I might view as a typical “workers” day. I use the term worker because I hear the President use it often lately. I guess he sees the average American as just another ‘worker.’

I’m going to consider the case what could be a typical day of someone we might loosely term a ‘worker’ in a job, for an employer:

We wake up at a controlled time, because we are to be at work at a specific time – certainly understandable.

We eat breakfast of FDA controlled food.

We send our children off to government-controlled schools, only to be taught nothing about how government works. But they certainly are taught to follow the rules and be a good citizen.

We often drive motor vehicles now built and warranted, at least partially, by government-owned and controlled factories, where the regulations are staggering.

We hold licenses giving us permission to ‘drive,’ and travel roads controlled by ever-changing laws, rules, and regulations. Even the fuel is regulated and highly taxed by government.

The roads are highly patrolled by government police, whereby we are sometimes issued citations for violations that have no victims, nor a verified accusers – even when nobody was injured.

We often park in controlled parking areas, that are patrolled to catch parking violators.

We punch in at a controlled time, and work for our employer, under his control. Totally understandable

We return home in our licensed motor vehicles on controlled roads.

We eat our dinners of controlled food sources – regulated by the FDA

We watch television whereby the programming is controlled by the FCC, with government censors, and controlling agendas.

One bright spot however – so far the controls haven’t reached our bedrooms…or have they? It seems even our performance is being controlled by pills and potions these days. I would assume that government also regulates them.

Heck, we even attend government controlled churches.

Let’s understand that if a tax-exempt 501 (c)(3) church cares too much about your freedom, and speaks out against government, they will be in jeopardy of losing those controlled tax benefits…

….and it all gets worse every day!

This is freedom?
